The Centennial of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur’s

Arrival in the United States, 1940

In 1940, two Notre Dame Alumni, Helen Nugent and Betty Jo Huck began a tour throughout the United States. Traveling mostly by American Airlines, their goal was to visit every Sisters of Notre Dame school in America to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the Sisters of Notre Dame in Cincinnati, Ohio. While on tour, they filmed their travels and offered their comments on all the towns, cities and schools they saw. The video was transferred to VHS tape, which deteriorated over time. But the tour of these two alumni are now available for viewing.

Enjoy this travel back in time to the 1940s.
